No comments on the McChrystal saga?

Yeah sure how convenient all Obama's shrills outlets are repeatedly bringing it up. They're reinforcing the "crazed runaway general" theme. Which is natural considering they can't reveal the actual story which is the administration has no clue what they're doing.

I didnt see that at all. What time where you watching that they even went down that line. What I saw on MSNBC was they said he was probably frustrated with too many chefs and this was his way of bringing attention to the matter. They also said he was conflicting with Biden. I saw no mention of a "crazed runaway general" or anything negative other than he was silly to mention the things he did with a journalist near. Most of the coverage I saw was positive to both Obama and the general.

So what time where you watching, or which show did you watch yesterday that gave you this rather absurd point of view

Maybe McChrystal isn't as stupid as everyone seems to think he is.

If you knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the war in Afghanistan was a lost cause, then would it not be quite prudent of you to get yourself fired by "stupidly" criticising your boss and the whole operation within ear-shot of a reporter? It's a hell of a lot better than waiting around until the whole thing gets blamed on you, right?

Note... This doesn't exactly make him brave or admirable either.

Perhaps but why then would Petraeus take the job? Doubt he would take the job if he thought it was a lost cause.

The population of Afghanistan is about 28 million and if only a quarter of them are suicidally inclined that's a lot of bombers that no army, however big, can counter.

The Taliban and their ideology is churning out terrorists all the time and the decent part of the population is being overwhelmed.

As for calling McCrystal a "jackass" insulting top serviceman like for example "General Betray us" is nothing new to MSNBC hacks

But Obama didn't listen to Herr Olbermahn. Maybe the Prez was influenced by the writings at Keith Olbermann's blog, where they declared that McChrystal is a "monstrous thug", an example of the military's "pathological criminals": "half murderer, and all evil". Yes, our old friends at Daily Kos, recently described by member Olbermann as "a nice site".

Democrat Robert Wexler accusing Petraues of lying: "Cherry-picking statistics or selectively massaging information will not change the basic truth."

MSNBC's Olberman again: "President Bush via his surr-a-gate, General David Petraeus, delivers his report."

and of course Obama:

I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence there. In fact, I think it will do the reverse.

And what I know is that what our troops deserve is not just rhetoric, they deserve a new plan. Governor Romney and Senator McCain clearly believe that the course that we're on in Iraq is working, I do not.

My assessment is that the surge has not worked and we will not see a different report eight weeks from now.
