No comments on the McChrystal saga?

Obama had no choice, any other course of action would of made him look weak(er).
 
McChrystal was on drugs. It's all that Rolling Stones journalist's fault. They're all stars in the dope show.
 
I watched this on CNN late last night. Very career limiting comments he made. You cannot publicly criticise your chain of command and not expect any repercussions.

The magazine containing the article has not been released for sale yet!

The guy was desperate /me thinks. Imagine having to deal with Joe "hair plugs" Biden and loony schemes he dreams up. He went public to get the surge and has now tried the same formula to put pressure on the administration.

Ironic that Petraeus is now being demoted to take command of the Aghan surge. The man who's plan for Iraq Obama so vehemently opposed predicting catastrophe and disaster, the man the liberal press repeatedly vilified and insulted. I wonder how long before he too gets the ****s with hair plugs and his minions....
 
Was watching this on MSNBC last night. They likened it (the firing) to when Douglas MacArthur was fired for suggesting they drop 20 odd nukes on China (in fact, the old goat ignored Truman's command not to attack China and was going ahead with plans to nuke China!).

On the plus side, it does reinforce the civilian authorities power over the military.

Oh yeah I can see the parallels that crazy McChrystal wanted to turn Afghanistan into glass thank god Obama is their to save the day. A new low for political hacks over at MSNBC

Actually they were just talking about the last time a general got fired. They didnt liken the deeds of the generals (just the fact that a general got fired), in fact they took pains to clarify that the deeds were no where equal. They had two retired generals on MSNBC discussing this. Yeah imagine that.. MSNBC hacks for bringing two generals onto the show to discuss the firing of a general :rolleyes:

Yeah sure how convenient all Obama's shrills outlets are repeatedly bringing it up. They're reinforcing the "crazed runaway general" theme. Which is natural considering they can't reveal the actual story which is the administration has no clue what they're doing.

Well he threatened to resign if he didn't get the surge he wanted last year. He has been fighting the administration in the public domain first last year when his report on Afghanistan was leaked to the Washington Post and this is just a continuation of the struggle.

So my money is on the latter. Obama got it all wrong in Iraq so he's probably getting it all wrong in Afghanistan too. Irony is he put McChrystal in charge on the recommendation of Petraeus or as the left used to call him "general betray us" who " cooked the books for Bush administration" on Iraq yet the administration won't stop meddling and let them do their job.
 
Maybe McChrystal isn't as stupid as everyone seems to think he is.

If you knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the war in Afghanistan was a lost cause, then would it not be quite prudent of you to get yourself fired by "stupidly" criticising your boss and the whole operation within ear-shot of a reporter? It's a hell of a lot better than waiting around until the whole thing gets blamed on you, right?

Note... This doesn't exactly make him brave or admirable either.

The Glenn Beck toad is already croaking McChrystal's praises. He'll be POTUS in 2016 at this rate, mark my words. :p
