Switched off google tracking on my phone. The real issue is all phone manufacturers collect some form of data, but Huawei is owned by the CCP.

The CCP uses this data for truly nefarious purposes, like the tracking and imprisonment of the Uighurs. What else could they do when they have the world's data? Your guess is as good as mine, but I'd rather not give them that option. The CCP is the Nazis of our time and just like then, most people are cool with it as long as it doesn't affect them.

Nope, it just means you have the AppGallery installed. I het those notifications on my S20U, too, because I have it installed.

Nearly two months Google free! Very refreshing!

What you can't find on Huawei App Gallery can be found using Findorra.

There are no apps that were on my P20 lite that I can't install on my P40 lite! I always used Waze for travelling.

Battery life between charges is over three days (yes, iPhone users days not hours) at least.

China has the most integrated digital society I have seen, by a mile. I'm sure their practices are world-class. Would I trust any global body when they tell me the CCP is trustworthy?

As a by the way, I'm in the trade and Samsung screens break at the drop of a hat and are either shockingly priced or very bad generics! Not so with Huawei, where the screens are at least a third of the price and genuine! Although Gorilla glass is used, it does not make it impossible to smash.

For the times that I need a mapping application, I'm not particularity concerned but rest assured Huawei will find a solution!
 
I work in the ME for a US company. Not allowed to have anything Chinese make or made. Security reasons. Huawei is owned by the CCP. So is Tencent and WeChat, which Naspers have invested heavily in. Huawei is banned in most European countries and North America for anything remotely to do with 5G or mobile. My friend in SA is a Huawei mobile user and very happy. It's easy to blame if you only read what newspapers want you to read, but behind that scenes it's scary if you know the real story. There is a story you can read @ www.neweurope.eu by a South African lady Elise Lombaard. Possible eye opener for people who don't know. BTW, I'm not a South African citizen anymore.
