Probability of load-shedding low for this week

Eskom has announced that there is no load-shedding expected for Monday 21 October 2019, with the probability of load-shedding remaining low for the rest of the week.

"Despite a constrained and vulnerable power system, no load-shedding is expected tomorrow, Monday 21 October 2019 and the probability of load-shedding remains low for the rest of the week," Eskom said.

Subjugation on pause?

Progressing well? ... seriously, how long can this take? :X3:

It's 2m wide and kilometres long, weigh tons and carries about 500 tons of coal at any one time along its length. The belt snapped and the motor buckled and damaged the support steel beams at one end. It isn't a "quick fix".

The real question is, why is the supply belt from the coal mine affecting output when Medupi has thousands of tons of stored coal on site, because it was late to start operations.

This is like saying "there are no car accidents expected today on the N1." But it is probable. You don't expect crashes every day, but they happen almost every day. You don't get in your car in the morning planning to crash.

Did they ever clear that substandard coal out or just left it in the storage and relied on the conveyore not to run short until a tender around transport and dumping could be resolved?

Eskom warns that it could implement load-shedding on short notice this week
Eskom has confirmed that no load-shedding is expected for today (Monday) despite a strained and vulnerable system which the power utility says is slowly returning back to normal operational capacity.

Further good news was shared when the utility announced that the probability of load-shedding for this coming week remained low.

“The system’s improvement is largely as a result of several units being returned to service from planned and unplanned maintenance, and achieving a healthy water level at our pumped storage schemes to prepare for the week ahead,” Eskom said.

The load-shedding card has as yet not been removed from play.

Currently, Eskom continues to replenish their diesel reserves which are used to keep the open cycle gas turbines running – this enables Eskom to avoid or minimise the risk of load-shedding.

Repairs however are progressing well on the conveyor belt at the Medupi power station which is expected to reach full operational capacity by the end of the week.

“We remind customers that despite this progress, the power system is constrained and while every effort is made to avoid load-shedding, it could be implemented at short notice should there be a significant shift in plant performance and increased unplanned technical breakdowns,” Eskom warned

"reach full operational capacity by the end of the week "

Uh, no. Liars. Medupi is derated to 500MW/unit because of shitty design and build from the ANC Chancelor House Hitachi power africa contract **** up.
