No Man's Sky

Erm how you do that... I wanna star trek teleporter

Da game is too big :D so much to still learn/do.
Fly over planet until in spot you like, jump out of seat using the menu option (on PC I think it's the x button menu) and then to the left of the hatch is a button to teleport down.

It works most of the time but couldn't do it nicely over one of the planetary trade stations because the building was effectively blocking the teleporter. I jumped out and then it let me beam back up because it doesn't have a problem doing it in reverse lol.

I think so, would need to double check. There is a scanner that doesn't help either.
Plus when you have the Emeril drive or the Iridum (can never remember which) you can remove the old ones, you don't need them after that.
Same as once you've learnt a lot of the languages you can remove the translator modules.
OMG how did I not know about those extra drives. Been using all three on my ships, but then tech slots haven't been such an issue. That's useful info for the corvette in the expedition where I couldn't scrap ships for extra storage augmentation.

Yup each time you upgrade your hyper drive you can scrap the old one, cause the new can do both :-). Plus you don't need all the guns on your ship, pick and choose which you like and just kit those out.

Yeah I do the guns thing, infra-knife only for my fighter. Used to have phase beam (I think) to also charge shields but easier just to recharge shields if ever needed and not have to switch weapons. I also mainly use pulse spitter on the multi-tool along with the paralysis mortar.

Got the final drive once during an expedition before doing any of the others.

I speak under correction, but I think the warp drives can still add to your jump distance bonus. But... Has anybody, ever, had a problem with how far they can jump?

It does add a bit to the hyper drive limit, but not a lot, I mean on my mini freighter after removing I went from 2250ly to 2150ly so it was like hmm 100ly? Can make it up if I find a pirate part of 300ly.

It's really nothing. Unlike meaningfully impactful upgrades like dps and shields. Just 2c I threw in.

Back in my usual ship now. Game feels like it's in fast forward while flying. No more station teleporters. Landing IN the pirate base.

Just like god intended.

I'll still do expeditions with corvettes though. And co-op. Ultra luxury then.
Yup, when I jumped back into my senti it was like yeah this is how it's supposed to be :-). But getting my corvettes close makes them not to bad to use. Though being so big you can kinda still feel it over the smaller ships. Hence why I now try to make my tube smaller ;-)

They need to make a dock/hanger module for Corvette (if they haven't) so you can take your "fighter" & Noman around with you.

They totally have a role to play. For one. Does a lot for co-op.

Main thing for solo play. Early game and expeditions. Quick, easy, cheap 3 ingredient refiner. And then the luxury of having some storage and a kitchen on hand always without stretching for a freighter or any of that. The missions are good too. Almost always one available with a Salvage Frigate Module reward. That I've seen. Which is a tad bit more fun than most ways of farming them. Arguably they'll hit harder than any normal ship. What with the normal weapons/upgrades and the part bonuses. Though the game doesn't really have the combat to need that much firepower. When you can already do any battle, or series of battles vs sentinels with a kitted out Fighter with ease.

Plus they're fun to build and upgrade too. Farming for it still now. Gotta have the bling.

You can switch between them anywhere with the menu.

On foot on a planet you just point where you want it to land. Any ship. So the effect is the same.
