No Man's Sky

Glad you're playing again! Only vague memories as not playing the redux but do you need all drives or just the atlantid? And don't they give that to you? In one of the expeditions I switched to my own ship and moved the atlantid drive from ship to ship. While the other drives can help a bit with jump distance I think you can just run with the highest level and be able to access all system types.
Brought in my own ship, all the drives where gone, should have packaged them first before starting. But oh well. I'll just go with it, will remember to package them for the next one

If you still have the expedition starter ship then you may be able to move the drive. My friend did the same thing and sold the starter ship before he realised so we scrambled a bit to collect what he needed. It doesn't matter all that much though, just gives you an extra problem to solve ;)

Thanks, I'll have a look at the starter ship, haven't sold that one yet.

Still give you everything. I started with a fresh game and did not need anything; I only unlocked tech in the anomaly once I was done with the expedition.

Well, I did hit one wall on Saturday. Was the part where you needed to explore deep. Instead of diving myself, I thought I'd portal to someone else's underground base. Well, yeah, there was no base. and I was under 1300 water with my ship next to me. Had to start a base to build a Nautilus so that I can get to the surface. Once there, I was stuffed as I could not summon my ship.

After some googling, I found that you can summon the ship from a skiff. Lucky I unlocked that earlier, else I would have been borked.

Edit. Got rid of my portable refinery early on the moment they gave you a backpack one so could not use that trick to summon a ship.

you can summon your ship if it's got a aqua jets upgrade.
That Titan expedition argh man, feels like yesterday I played it but yeah that dive deep part sucked.

Odd, I've done that a few times, perhaps corvettes are different. But when my normal ships have it could call them in.

I know, was right about then that panic hit. Cause radiation was ticking my HP so I was going "Oh fud, gonna have to start a new game." cause no proper save.

Oivey, sounds like the person did a death trap, some users do that :-( luckily you got out in time. Also if you die you should restart nearby your grave, unless you playing permadeath.

I kind of love these No Man's Sky misadventures

Glad you found a way around the problem. I might have tried a base with a teleporter but depends what you have for supplies and what you're allowed to build. I like that there are different ways to solve things in this game.

Water planet... that not gonna help :D

Not unlocked yet :(

@AlphaJohn tell us about the portable refiner trick with calling your ship/corvette in? You can place the refiner on a water surface and then stand on it?

I did, and a s a ultimate fu to whoever built the trap, I went back and built a fully stocked base with Galaxy shop planters, portal, and all.
I'm getting pretty quick at assessing and reloading a previous save if something goes wrong or unexpected. Only have so long before the autosave overwrites though.

Yes, it floats and you can summon a ship to land on it while you in the water, no aqua jets needed..... but you do need a portable one in your backpack, but that's not needed once you have a fishing skiff. You can summon your ships to dock with it. Can say I kinda learned the hard way :D

I did read about some griefers with this expedition, removing terrain so a portal was underwater and someone killing peeps who didn't know to turn off PVP :(
