The derelicts always were a bit easy but then I went in fully prepared with upgrades and a good weapon. The most annoying part is managing the cold but that gets sorted out with lots of upgrades. Edit: and walking soooooo slowly!!

cause I've got lot of thermal protection and my pulse spitter. Plus normal mortars

One mortar for me takes care of them, though I shoot the egg first and shoot the mortar just before so it can do max damage.

Don't expect a nice relaxing game
sure it does have moments of it, where you just sit on a planet overlooking the sun rising over a beautiful lake, but then the sentinels come.
This is where my senti would be handy, just hover and use infraknife.
Really hoping my friend helps me out!! He owes me for sorting out the derelict bugs
Great time to try it!! Spend a bit of time learning the basics and then in a few weeks they should be re-releasing most/all of this years expeditions so you get to play them as well if you want.
There were some nasty expeditions this year to start with, you did well! I don't know that I'd recommend it for everyone though. Or at least if it feels overwhelming then they should try a regular start which has a bit of tutorial guidance.

I've finished the first 2 phases and half way on all the rest. Finally upgraded my rifle to A class and got the pulse spitter. Feeling less like I will die by hungering tendril or bugs
Said to my friend we must move, want to finish it tonight if we can otherwise tomorrow night. He's a bit behind me so helping him catch up.
