If you are in your 20's and have no matric:

  • Where can you complete your matric?
Can you study matric via distance learning?
What are the best institutes through which you can compelete matric?
What other study options beside matric are available to you?
What kind of work is available to you?

I think you can do it through intec college/damelin.

This.

I wouldn't bother unless you were planning on getting a degree later. Noone asks to see your matric certificate. Just put some arb school and matriculation date on your CV.

Fraud. Great advice.

I wouldn’t bother. You may have to cycle through a lot of job interviews, however.

If you insist on attending university (could be a waste of time) there is a ‘Mature Age Exemption’ where you don’t need a matric. I think it’s in the late twenties. Check.

WTF?! :wtf: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, terrible advice!

Everyone asks to see your matric certificate, mostly once you're employed. I'd love to know how that conversation would go.

The matric age exemption is for people without a matric exemption not for people without an exemption.

Do they really? How old are you?

I’m not sure what you are saying. Anyway, it’s **Mature** Age Exemption not Matric Age Exemption.

I'm 26...been at 4 companies professionally, and every one of them wanted all my docs. Are you really suggesting that he should lie on his CV?! Or was that sarcasm?

I'm saying the age exemption is only for people with a matric but without a matric exemption ( I.e. four higher grade subjects passed). It doesn't apply to people without a matric.

I was half joking. I haven't been asked for a copy of my matric certificate since my first job and I know of a guy who doesn't have one who straight lies about his. I really don't think employees are that concerned once you have a bit of relevant work experience. Tertiary education maybe a different story.

There is no such thing.

The age exemption is in cases where people have a basic, but not good enough senior certificate.

Not all companies thoroughly check your qualifications. I for one have not been asked to produce my matric certificate or national diploma. Funny thing is I lost it when I moved to this company (I kept all my academic papers at my previous work). This reminds me I need to try and get new copies of this from DoE / PE Tech

Should they ask me I'll just get Kroll to prove to them :)
