No Matric

Not all companies thoroughly check your qualifications. I for one have not been asked to produce my matric certificate or national diploma. Funny thing is I lost it when I moved to this company (I kept all my academic papers at my previous work). This reminds me I need to try and get new copies of this from DoE / PE Tech

Should they ask me I'll just get Kroll to prove to them :)
Certificates are easy to forge, if they should need to verify your qualifications they'll probably go to the institution you claim to have obtained them from, so they can see records that you did spend the time you claim there and did indeed pass.

I've never been asked for my matric certificate, I suppose if you hold higher qualifications it's kinda moot as you need the matric certificate to get your diploma/degree etc Even without any papers they can easily verify whether you do actually have a degree etc purely by supplying your student/ID number.

These days it would be stupid not to verify the the details, unless you work in gov. where they still appoint you even though you lied about your qualifications.

Hi, i have been battling for quite some time to get into unisa as i left school after grade 10. I however did my N6 diploma and i qualified for a +23 conditional exemption. I am now registered for bsc informatics. I must say it has been quite a mission but very possible. Google "2011 ame admission criteria" this is the document that will tell you if you qualify or not. It basically states that without a matric certificate BUT with one of the diplomas from group B you can apply for matric exemption. There is also another type of +23 exemption for technical N subjects only. I hope this helps anyone here. With unisa i find its best to keep phoning and emailing as the people that work there dont seem to understand the exemption without matric .They keep asking for it. I suggest showing them the document. I know its a bit late but someone might just have the same problem this year and this could help someone. I dont know if anyone is still here or if you all have degrees by now haha.

Went through this last year.

Only route worth going is getting your G.E.D.

There is a thread somewhere on the forum regarding getting matric, use the search function and check the last few pages :)
