Hi

I bought Metro 2033 Limited Edition today and guess what? I can't find the required cd key ANYWHERE. All I got inside was a free copy of Red Faction Guerilla and some voucher to unlock a new weapon. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, what solution have you found? I'm taking it back tomorrow anyway but I really want to play this game.

Thanks in advance,
Etienne

Duuude sorry I cant help you but when you do play the game could you tell me if the graphics are that great!

'cause I've been reading benchmarks and have seen a couple of gpu reviews saying that this games rapes most graphics cards kinda like this one game I dont want to mention.

Will do dude! I've got an E8400 and a 5770 so HOPEFULLY I can play it at decent frame rates while looking good, not like this other game I don't want to mention :D

that game sucks man ... i hate the way enemies die in it .. its like ure shooting them and they just fall like sack of cotton on the ground.

I got it working. Not the legal way ofcourse. But if neither Steam nor my stupid incompetent local dealer can provide sufficient customer service, what else can I do. I pay for something and now I have to wait for a reply form Steam. Stuff that. I got the link to an awesome torrent providing me with a way to extract the files from the original disc, without doing it via Steam :p I can post the link if anyone else get the same issue

The graphics are awesome I must say. Way better that Crysis. Then again, I personally never thought Crysis' graphics were that great. But ya.. performance suffers, especially with DirectX 11 and its features turned on. I play at 1920x1080, Direct X 9 and High setting. It still looks great and I get around 30 fps outside in snowy conditions and intense fire fights, and the fps shoots up to about 45 indoors. Still very playable for me so I'm happy:) And the story looks good so far

If you enjoy the game then check out the STALKER series. Metro 2033 is like a little brother to those games.

I played the first STALKER and then I tried Clear Sky, but what put me off most was that I had to go back to the map of the previous game. In playing a new game I like to see new stuff and new maps. I didn't play the whole game though so I don't know whether you get new maps further on? If you do, I might try and play it again as I still have it :D

Was playing metro with my good little 4850, medium settings and looked pretty good. Just bought a 5850 now playing with dx11 and WOW you can see so much more detail!! it's pretty epic..

This is the reply I got from Steam by the way. Note the usage of "assist". First they say they can't assist me any further, then they say they'll be glad to assist me further.

"You will need to seek a return from the retailer who sold this product to you as it was not a Steam purchase I will not be able to assist further.

If you have any further questions, please let us know - we will be happy to assist you."

Is there any other reference you can give Steam to indicate this is a unqiue product (maybe one of the other voucher keys?)

I think you are going to have quite a tough time convincing the retailer (especially if it's one of the bigger more savvy ones) that an item from inside a (assumingly) sealed software box was misplaced.

Yes I emailed them pictures of everything, including the weapon voucher I got inside. Looking at their reply, it seems as if they didn't even take that into account.

Try e-mailing it to the developers. Steam have shown they are not interested as they didn't sell it to you.

daaam... 'cause im sitting with a good little 4850 and my budget dictates an upgrade to either a 4870 or 4890 (with a bit of stretching)

LOL this game don't rape GPU.. I just have a XFX Nvidia 9800GT 512 DDR3 and it runs great on there. The game is really fun so far, loved the part on the train car...
