Some of you (ajax, prom?) reported you could transfer all of your credit to other data sims but then it stopped working in the last month or two.

If so, can you please PM me the following:

- Number and contract type from where you transferred.
- Number and contract type where you transferred to.
- When you could still transfer 100%.
- When it stopped, i.e. not 100% anymore.
- (Needless to say!) Your contact details.

I want to follow up on this.

Hi vodacom3g

On the same topic . Why are you not allowed to transfer funds from say a Top 315 with money from your monthly allocation?

My problem is that I am not doing that many phone calls on the contract and have a lot of credit left after a month. I can buy data bundles but that will be loaded on my sim. This means I have to exchange sims when I use a my datacard since my phone only does gprs/edge.
It would be great if I could just have a extra prepaid sim to keep in my datacard at all times.

General problems with airtime transfer anyhow

If my recent experience is anything to go by the whole question might be academic right now.

I keep a reasonable prepaid balance (R500 +) but have been unable to transfer airtime to my partner for ages, even though it used to work a treat.

Neither the dedicated transfer code nor using the Voda Options menu work -- in fact using the dedicated code has been a problem for as long as I can remember. I logged the fault again with the Helpdesk yesterday, who acknowledged the problem, but have not heard anything back. So perhaps it's the entire airtime transfer system at fault, or part of it -- rather than just the isolated incidents here?

This is working again. I transferred all the airtime I bought over to my wife's phone.

Maybe an idea to also post the method used when transferring airtime - maybe the USSD command is restricted whilst other methods might not be restricted...

I want to do the same thing but can't:(

Warning to anyone transferring airtime!

If you buy Voda airtime and want to transfer a lot of it to a data SIM or another phone, beware of fine print so small it's not even included in the official Airtime Transfer brochure: Vodacom sets limits -- and currently blocks the transfer of anything over 50% of your airtime.

I suspect I am not the only hapless customer ambushed by this little-known restriction -- which is not specified anywhere except, apparently, somewhere deep within the website if you register. Buying an R1,100 airtime voucher for R1,000 is a great standard Vodacom deal for heavy users, and I periodically transfer chunks of it to my datacard and my partner's phone when needed. But the ability to transfer stops at 50%, the helpdesk has now confirmed.

Might it not have been fairer to specify this significant limitation in the actual brochure and other promotional literature? How thin is the line between fair play and customer deception?

Next time just buy double the amount then you can transfer the amount you want.
