Fresh changes by Zuma!

Having taken it over last week from his predecessor, Thabo Mbeki, newly elected leader of the African National Congress (ANC) Jacob Zuma is giving up his weekly pulpit in the ANC's online newsletter, ANC Today.

The weekly sermon was an opportunity, much prized by Mbeki, to deliver often literary admonishments to individuals or organisations that had crossed him in the previous week.

Zuma plainly does not have the same literary instincts and announced on Friday in what was only his second online column that he was giving it up in favour of weekly contributions from ANC officials and national executive committee members.

"The letter from the president will now be published on special occasions only, dealing with important themes and events during the course of the year," he explained. "The intention is to open up the journal to a diversity of voices articulating ANC positions."
 
How are we supposed to pick up a tell on him if he never plays any hands?
 
well once a week does seem a bit much

u must listen to/read all this rubbish ever week only for the country to go backwards every week :)

once in awhile will be better might get the problems noticed
 
I guess the Std 2 *degree* that Zuma has is really paying off now....

Mmmm:confused:, just finished going through the rest of the story, In summary he says:

We will also continue to develop ANC Today as a credible, popular and vibrant expression of the views and perspectives of the African National Congress. The journal will remain at the heart of the ANC's contribution to the battle of ideas.

Over the next few weeks and months, readers should expect to see a number of changes in ANC Today, all intended to improve the relevance, vibrancy and impact of this weekly read.

As we introduce these changes, we will continue to encourage and value the feedback we receive from readers, better to ensure that the voice of the ANC is heard.

ANC Today will be an authoritative online voice of the African National Congress and a platform for the accurate expression of the policies and views of our movement. We trust that the diversity of contributors will encourage more debate, and promote better understanding of the movement and its programmes and activities.
 
Is he literate? Seriously, has he not only got a primary school education?
 
Well...he's made some remarkable statements toward the media and media freedom in this country. In a nutshell he says.....The media in South Africa is "politically and ideologically" out of synch with the society in which it operates.
 
re Zuma. Bring it on. The sooner there's a clearly deranged leader in charge of SA, the sooner the vast lazy population sitting hoping for better times, realize its not going to come, and they leave, taking their expertise and wealth with them, and the sooner SA goes boom and disintegrates - which means, once the famine, disease, and tribal warfare is over with, the sooner SA can be rebuilt in a non racial, properly democratic way.
This process will probably take a few decades to cycle through.. I'd guess 30 years or so at most.
Given the AID's infection rate and death toll (1200+ per day) - the infrastructure of SA will start grinding to a halt some time in the next 15 years or so..
(How can it not? You can't have such an increasing quantity of 'unable to work' infected and dying folks, without running out of 'labour' and clogging up all hospitals.. )

Yeah, just read that on News24 - that worries me. That does not sound good at all.
 
Can you imagine if JZ had to write a weekly column for the whole world to see :D
At least he realizes his limits.

Zuma's last weekly offering is essentially a long assault on the country's media. He repeated what was said in the very first edition of ANC Today: "We are faced with the virtually unique situation that, among the democracies, the overwhelmingly dominant tendency in South African politics, represented by the ANC, has no representation whatsoever in the mass media.
