No more local after capped on Telkom ?

Anyone know if this is still running?

I usually got capped at about 4.5gb or so and then i still used my account for the 30 gb or so local that they gave you, but lately it seems as though there is no more local.

I cant open any local sites after capped nor can i dl any local content.

Any info would be appreciated.

Wow thats weird, all 9 of my accounts refuse to do any local. My router is in bridged mode so i just connect the account that i want when i want from any machine.

Would resetting the router sort this out or not ?

Another thing is when i log on to 5fm live streaming using a fresh account it works then i disconnect and connect a capped one and the streaming continues without problems, but theres no way i can connect to the streaming with a capped one. I hope thats clear.

So there is some internet, this is very weird seeing as im the only one experiencing no local.

My dad actually works for telkom and he says that because they've upgraded their adsl system there has been a lot of issues - like I dunno if any of you have experienced your ADSL connections pulling a dial-up (you know disconnecting and reconnecting... etc)

Basically their whole system is even more screwed up than usual; also the server was down now now by me - so maybe that's happening to you right now.

So sometimes you'll just have to wait it out... usually takes a couple of hours...

Shouldnt I be able to browse ANY .co.za / .za.org site? Ill understand if they were hosted externally, but hell! this is ridiculous. www.bitfarm.co.za and games.tucows.saix.net cant be reached. Is this something I should "speak gently" to Hellkom about or am I just being dumb? Sorry about the hijack

Games.tucows.saix.net resolves to www.tucows.com, an international site. But most of the files on tucows are available locally through eg. ftp://ftp.sun.ac.za/pub/mirrors/www.tucows.com/ etc etc. Otherwise give http://www.brothersoft.com a go, they are hosted locally via akamai.

I'm having a similar problem. I am on 150% and was expecting local to work at least. I've reconnected, and no offshore sites will load, an no local sites are coming up either except this one.

edit: ok, some more sites are now working. Brothersoft is deadly slow - is it hosted on GPRS?
