Do you guys have souls?
If you think that you have soul or consiousness, what becomes of it when you die?

I always wondered about this.
This is the first oppertunity to ask an atheist, so please bear with me.
 
Or try a search - I believe this topic has been covered before. But the simple answer to your question is that athiests dont believe that these magical soul thingys exist. As PP stated, we become worm food or ash.

Do you believe that the sumtotal of you is the flesh alone,nothing more?
I mean i am communicating with you,not the flesh.
I have meat in the fridge, it does not communicate with me.
It does not acknowledge me at all.
There must be something more,and when you die that something is gone.

You're communicating with electrical signals in our brains, brought about by a stimulus (one of the senses). You're not communicating with our souls.

But anyway as stated above, feel free to start a thread about it in the PD section. You'll even get guys batting for your side in there ;)

We know that the brain requires oxygen and "flesh" to function. You agree that it is our brains/minds talking and thinking, yes?

So let me get this straight: You believe in God and that you have a soul because your meat in the fridge doesnt talk to you???

Remember, that piece of meat was more than capable of communicating with you before it was butchered.

Ok...What ignited your "brain" to exist?...or, how did it happen that you have a brain?...or better still..Plants live...where are THEIR brains? :)
