No really , this is not funny any more. Are there any MTN reps who can help me?
My GF got a new MTN contract beginning October and has only had the phone for like 2 weeks since then. Its been in for repairs all the other time.
I been fighting with MTN to get a new phone but each time they just say no they can decide on that and they have to send it in to the technicians.

Really I don't think this is funny and neither does my GF.

I mean how can you keep on paying for something you cant even use?
MTN is not willing to either swap it for a new phone or the cancel the contract so that she can choose a new phone. That just SUX! So she is stuck with nothing having to pay for a phone.
:mad::mad::mad:

2 things

1. If the phone was OBF they would have replaced it on first enquiry.
2. If it's a repeat problem and the phone is sent in for the same problem 3 times, the phone is replaced, that is the requirement by the manufacturer.

MTN does not make phones, they sell them.

He's trying to say that mtn should have swapped it out by now already.

She is paying for a phone that she is not using. That's not right.

I agree.

However, was Uli offered a temp phone while the phone is in for repairs ?
What is wrong with the phone, is it a factory fault or maybe something else ?

Uli, maybe PM me the Jobcard # let me get behind the facts regarding that phone quickly.

A temp phone was never offered.
The fault is that it just starts showing that its charging when its not even plugged in and also that it doesn't give you the option to cancel the alarm when the alarm goes off, you have to switch the phone off.

I was also told by MTN SP Midlands Mall that you don't get a new phone unless the techie says you can get a new one and that its out of the salesman hands. That is so really irritating coz who can you actually talk to if nobody is willing to either help you or actually take blame for anything. Then there should be a tachie at a sp shop at least who can test it immediately and say ok take a new one now, but no now you have to wait for it to be sent to durbs again and wait another 2 weeks.

Edit: PM sent with details required. Thanks for the help.

StaalBal, Any news on this phone yet?

I got your PM from this morning and sent a follow up request.

I have also forwarded you the e-mail response I got last week. As soon as I get feedback, you'll be the first to know ;)

2 Weeks? I waited 4 weeks for mine and had to send it back 3 days later and waited another 4 weeks.

Well its in for the third time now and she signed the contract in september, she has only used it about 2 weeks.

MTN are useless full stop

took them three months to notice that "I broke the phone" so they will not repair it.

Though it is clearly 100% a software problem on their fault.
MTN RIP YOU OFF!!!

Move to a smaller network such as cell c-they at least value the customer

Well if that is what the story will be then I will have to take a legal route.

Just picked up the new phone... yipee!!!
Lets see how long this wone lasts...lol
Thanks StaalBal if you had anything to do with it!
