No Network Address Translation (NAT) Connection

Hi Guys,

I have a client that requires a No NAT ADSL connection with Fixed IP's to connect their Cisco Routers to a Network Tunnel to their International Network. I have done some googling on this and cannot find any ISP's offering this.

Would anyone be able to recommend any Providers that do cater for this?

NAT'ing is done on your own router, so just do a 1-to-1 NAT, or bridge the ADSL router and create the PPPOE connection on the CISCO router. The CISCO wan port will then have the public IP on its WAN interface.
 
Thanks for the responses. Basically this is what I came up with doing some google searches and explained this to the client.

They currently have a Business Connection with a well known ISP who offered the fixed IP but this is apparently not the way they want this to work.

Their Main IT guy sits at their HQ in Europe and disagrees with me on this. Basically states "assigning private IPs to a public transfer network conflicts with our internal routing in the backbone" & "doing pppoe on our router with the same credentials as before and we get an IP from the private address range 10.x.y.z, which is nattet to 165.x.y.z. Our connections don’t work with NAT."

We have tested POOHB33R Bridge suggestion but it does not work for some reason and this guy has no Idea why it does not work and is adamant that a No NAT is the only way this will work.

So in theory I can tell them that no ISP's in SA will be able to offer this?

Get in touch with a Tier 1 ISP, and ask them for L2TP static IP's...

I cant see how that would not work if the ISP assigns a static Public IP to your PPPOE account. There is no nat'ing being done if your IP assigned is an public ip.

What exactly are they trying to achieve with this "no nat network"?

From what I've read ISP's can't assign static IP's to PPPoE sessions over Telkom's ADSL. Things might have changed however.

Definitely changed. Has been doing this for years.

I done this couple months back for a provider for DHCP via a tunnel and there cloud services. Used mikrotik. Pretty simple config as you don't nat the traffic. Just route all traffic from the range via the tunnel.

Cant remember 100% but definitely possible.
