Ok, so a friend of mine is having this problem where he cannot access files on the network, error no network provider accepted the given network path

XP SP 2
File and printer sharing is enabled
Clients for MS is there
Firewall is disabled

He also did run the *sfc /scannow*, but to no avail.

Anything else I'm missing?? The laptop is not part of the domain, but it did work fine yesterday.

Can (s)he ping the other network computers or open any of them via the run command (where the xs are the ip address):
Code:
\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
?

Ok, so I only find out now that this has been happening since last week, so ja the laptop has been rebooted.

But that laptop is not lekker anymore. It struggle's to connect to my wireless connection at home, but yet it connects quickly at the office. So I reckon a reinstallation is on the cards anyways.

Try change the provider order under the connections advanced settings. I've seen this happen before....
