Why damn MS?....
They say there is no NTFS support on the xbox... this is not like its some surprise undocumented feature.
I blame myself for converting my external from FAT32 to NTFS, now my Xbox won't read it ... and all my movies are there ... damn MS
It could simply override it the same way Windows does.Another reason against NTFS is the rights management and security aspect. NTFS supports far better security than plain old FAT32 - so you can set up directories that only certain users can use etc - and I doubt the XBOX would want to try deal with that - or with the complaints from users about "why can't I get into directory ABCD" etc .. just a thought.

Since the beginning. If you have physical access to the drive you can read the files. Unless they're encrypted.Override NTFS permissions like Windows does?!?!?!?!?!!
Since when? and what edition of Windows are you talking about?

You could try formatting the drive as HFS+ (a Mac format, ironic isn't it?) as it's compatible with the 360 and there's no 4GB file size restriction.

Keep in mind that you will need to purchase the Macdrive software if you want the drive to keep working in Windows.
We get that, and how does that effect an XBOX?
NTFS permissions are therefore not the reason the Xbox does not support it."why can't I get into directory ABCD" etc ..
You're referring to exFat, which isn't supported on the Xbox either.Hey guyz when i format in XP i don't see the FAT32 option, only NTFS on drop down? On windows 7 i can only see **Fat, forgot the first letters
