no oob charge

I am surprised to see that there had only been 3 replies to this thread. This to me is mainly about the oob charge. Do all the other guys have shares in Vodacom. Its the cents that make the Rands & not the Rands that make the cents. Vodacom & the likes like cheerfull givers. The more you give the more you will receive. "Eina that hurt me also".

The per month costs are higher though so there is an additional charge to an extent.

Only 500 & 2Gig & it is not that much, especially if you go oob. Does Vodacom have any upfront charges.?
Who then provides the best deal & how to go about it. I have some friends & family that are interested. They are ignorant users.

Looks like Vodacom have now joined the other ISP's that are also providing there own flavour of 3G/Hsdpa modem with a one time up front of R249 when you sign a 24 month contract. Now I can not understand why suddenly they have to do this? AFAIK none of the packages especially on Cell phones there are upfront charges, in fact some of them give you a voucher for all kinds of nice things. Are they feeling giulty that they are ripping the people off? why the give away's.

Now some ISP's have a upfront cost, claiming it is for the modem? or admin fees?

Either they are making to much money or they would like to make more money.

@Iam3g don't tell me the modem is more expensive. (example Slipstream modem). So are you saying when the next generation of Huawei modems appears on the RSA market there is allso going to be an upfront charge?? So they don't increase the package prices but have an upront charge.
