Ok, So I did it!

Re-activated my Gym membership, bought some supplements and went to gym this morning!

I decided its about time I get into the gym and start shedding some pounds! Sick of people saying "You've picked up weight".

Need some help though from those hardcore gymer's!

I am 91k at the moment and want to ideally get to around 70ish eventually, I am looking at getting around 80 in 4 - 6 weeks? Can it be done, if so how?????

I bought a meal replacement yesterday which I was told by the guy at Dischem to use between B/fast and Lunch and Lunch and Supper. I also got USN Phedra cut pill's which I am supposed to take in the morning and afternoon before meals.

I am in serious need of a good workout plan for the gym (Went this morning and was on treadmill for 20 min, then cycling for another 20 min, then clueless on what to do next.)

What is a good weight loss workout plan? Any supplements worth looking into? And most importantly any success stories some desperate motivation needed?

Well it comes down to eating low carbs, not too much protein, and burning way more calories than what you take in in a day. That is the only way too loose weight. In this process needless to say enough cardio, and I mean enough, and a little weight training.
Eat healthy while looking at the carbs and protein.

USN is dodge and causes thyroid issues. Switch to Evox or a more reputeable brand...

Just hang out with people that fatter than you. Problem solved, and with no pain from your side.

Oh and it makes blending in, in the USA a lot easier

The odds of you ever weighing 70 again by losing weight in a gym is 0.
You will lose about 10kg's in total. However you will be replacing your body fat with Muscle and bone. I think more in the line of a fit toned body in the region of 80KG's if you stick it through. But forget about getting to 70 in a gym ;) Unless you only do cardio and no weight training.

WTF are you doing using USN products

Stay of that crap mate :o Rather use Evox ;)

Dump the carbs, chock up the protein for muscle building, aerobic work for fat-burning,have one of the instructors do an assessment run to work out a cardio plan that won't kill you instantly ;)

Agree. You need protein to burn the fat.

Re the shakes between meals. That sounds odd. Usually a real replacement shake is to replace a meal (hence the name). They are high in nutrition and low in calories so you get what you need with low calories. Having meals PLUS meal replacement shakes is like eating 6 times a day you'll probably pick up weight.

In terms of gyming and routine etc. I'd seriously recommend you see the fitness instructor at the gym. It costs about R200 and it's a once off and they give you a routine based on your goals.

Also remember that muscle is heavier than fat so you should not only use the scale but also take some measurements.

Do some searching and reading online about the best heart rate to work out at for your body type and try to stick to that heart rate. It is surprisingly low but for fat burn is best.

Cut out all fizzy drinks. ...oh ... and ... sit-ups don't burn stomach fat.

Re - No Pain No Gain - I always thought thing hurt for a reason. No?

What's the deal with all the ABS training anyway?

There seems to be 10000 different "this is the only real way to burn ab-flab" programmes.

I'm currently just doing cardio in order to lose kg's (lost 3kg in 2 weeks) so I can be a little more prepared for the upcoming marathons/swims/bike races...

Try include rowing or skipping in your cardio routine, keep HR between 65-75%. Try do the suepr circuit more than just specific weights in the beginning.

Ditch the USN, if you are going to use weight loss tabs, try use another brand. I have had success with hydroxycut hardcore, but the side effects are somewhat unpleasant.

What side effects are we talking tau1z?

I don't know if gym's have orbitrek type machines but damn those things burn off fat fast and actually tone your entire body, its 1 machine that does the work of 2 or 3.

Diet is 80% of your weight loss (so they say). But as said, keep your heart rate in the fat burning zone. You can use online calculaters to help you, they want your age, weight and resting heart beat. I'd imagine your fat burning zone will be between 135 and 155bpm. Do 30 mins of cardio. People find that they lose so much weight and then plateau on cardio for a few weeks. At this point you then need to do more circuit training to speed up your metabolism (by building muscle) to get your body to burn more fat.

I'd forget the special meal drinks, they only help you to lose water and once you stop taking them you'll put the weight back on.
