People, it is really dry. Between work and errands, I don't have the time to water my own garden as well as the communal garden (the gardener is on sick leave) and am desperately hoping for rain. Is there any hope? I don't see good news on the forecasts on the web.

Had the same issues for many years.

I bought one of these with 2 extra fittings from mica, think total cost 4 outlets and the timer ended up around R1400.

I have been nagging the BC to put in micromisting in the communal flowerbeds but to no avail. So it will be me and that giant bloody hosepipe that weighs two of me at midnight tonight. Eish.

You're worried about the garden in a water scarce country. We have water restrictions, if you are seen with a hosepipe you are gonna get a big fine. It's really bad here, If we don't get rain we are in for some serious schite.

Well OP is in Pretoria. Vaal dam is 60% full and the wet season just started for Gauteng/inland. She can safely water her plants I think. ;)

Doesn't make the KZN situation suck less, I know.

Pretoria is going to fry today according to predictions. 36'C.
Ouch!

Posted this in a different thread a week or two ago - but it is relevant here too...

Meh.. Yesterday and Sunday I suffered with dehydration.. I think the cycling/mtb and massage on Saturday killed me. Surprisingly since I moved up to Gauteng, I've suffered dehydration 2-3 times typically in jan

Can't wait for the thunderstorm season to begin

There was a spot of rain Alberton side of the world last night - which was nice.

Looked like it was going to be a massive storm - but that didn't happen.

Had the usual clouds doing the timkin rumbleguts performance, together with bright flashes.

But no rain... yet. Hopefully it'll rain tonight or later this week.

+1 The guys from the city roam the streets in their white hilux bakkies, ready to wield the ban hammer if you are seen washing a car or watering a garden.

Where do you find out how full the dams are

59.1% for the Vaal.
