No SIM card detected

I have 3 contracts each with their own sim card and one 3g USB stick to use them with. Two out of the three of the cards suddenly have this strange issue where they would connect just fine, but after a while the device would suddenly disconnect and a message popup would appear saying no or invalid sim card detected. I am using Mobile partner to connect. This would happen across multiple devices and also when the 3G USB stick is inserted to my router.

Is it my sim cards that are broken or is it network related?:confused:
I went to a CellC branch today and they suggested that it is network related and reset my sim settings. This improved the time taken before the modem disconnects but it still happened once.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are these two other SIMs also Cell C?

2 of the three sims are CellC, one is 8ta. One of the Cell C has this problem and so does the 8ta sim. The time in between disconnects are around 30min on the Cell C card and around 10-15min on the 8ta one.

Clean all SIM cards with pencil eraser, also contacts on the modem (if accessible). Invalid SIM can be indication of device malfunctioning. If above doesn't help, borrow a another modem for testing.

Also, if you frequently swap SIM cards, take care about handling and avoid touching contacts with dry fingers. Static electricity can damage SIM I/O circuits and cause unreliable work.

If you constantly replace your sim cards they are likely to get damaged.

Strange, haven't experienced that before,
Is it not due to over heating maybe? I know those 3G modems get hot...
