No WhatsApp on 8.1

No.

They are most likely prepping an update, they did it a year or two ago as well before a big update.
 
Since updating to 8.1 on my 920, WhatsApp does sometimes fail to open properly and stick son a blank or grey screen. I then have to force close and reopen.

Have to say, I have been real lucky, I have not had a single issue after updating,,, yet...

Have you installed the latest 8.1 update ? I think it came out two of three days ago ?

Apparently it's not found on the appstore.
I had a friend that purchased a New Nokia 520.
It had 8.1 installed and can't find whatsapp in the store.

I hope it does appear otherwise he is going to return it.

Your ex-friend will only be able to return the phone due to manufacturing defects, not app incompatibility.
 
Yep. I got my 1520 back from repair and immediately installed WP8.1 Dev Preview before reinstalling all the apps. WhatsApp ain't available in Store. It works fine on 8.1 if you install on 8.0 and then upgrade to the Dev Preview.
 
It'll be back soon. Statement released by WhatsApp:

"Unfortunately due to technical issues, we have chosen to un-publish WhatsApp Messenger on the Windows Phone platform. We are working closely with Microsoft to resolve the issues and hope to return to the store shortly. We apologize to our users for the temporary inconvenience."
 
I'm moving to my 925 now and loading apps and what's app is unavailable. Running wp8.0 Amber. Still need to update to Black.

I installed it after updating the 1020 I'm currently using to 8.1, so no it works fine if installed on 8.1.

BTW when you update the phone software most of the apps get reinstalled during the update process

If it's advertised it can load whatsapp then it can be returned.
False adverstising and as per CPA you can return it.

You can load it, just not at the moment. It'll probably be back on the store in less than a week. Calm your tits.
