Is there a scientific link between testosterone level and fapping frequency?

Is there a negative correlation

Are there peer reviewed studies

I might try this nofap thing but dont think I will last more than a few hours

Yeah I saw a study that basically said although fapping (more specifically, ejaculation) causes a short term increase in T levels, overrall, your T levels will be lower than someone who abstained.

Ejaculation also causes other hormones, such as oxytocin, to be released that I think might counteract some of the effects of testosterone.

You'll have to do some googling to find the study, but they have done several studies on it.

But why? I don't see the harm in some self release every now and then. Especially is sex isn't available on the menu.

In theory, the less you fap, the more likely sex is to be available to you.

Not fapping will in theory increase your motivation for finding sex, and also make you more attractive to the opposite sex.

It's not that it is harmful, just depends on what you want.

i don't always fap, but when i do, it's with a woman :D

None of which has anything to do with testosterone levels. Also, that's not science that's a hypothesis that relates porn addiction to the average porn user in the same way that alcohol use relates to an alcoholic.

It can only provide motivation. That it makes you more attractive to the opposite sex is supposition at best.

Well, it is proven that men with higher levels of testosterone are more attractive to women. It is also proven that abstaining leads to higher levels of testosterone. You do the math.

Ok, so no other reason than "motivation"?

And more attractive to the opposite sex? What if I'm not interested in the opposite sex? ;)

Yes, but it's not proven to what degree not fapping effects testosterone levels. Fapping could actually stimulate testosterone production and it would in fact make sense if it did if you considered the purpose of the male sex drive.

Another little factoid is that actually having an active sex life makes one more attractive to women. That women have some mechanism for differentiating between a man having sex with a partner regularly and a man jerking off regularly is a bit of a stretch. Far more rational to look for a psychological causation than a physiological one. i.e. Not fapping with the belief that it makes you more attractive to women gives one a confidence boost that women respond to. In the same way having regular sex gives you a confidence boost.

Why do one need self release?

Do lions fap?

Do lions fap? Wouldn't other primates be better for taking behavioural cues from (if you were inclined to take your cues from other species that is)?

Do chimps fap? Yes, son. Yes they do.

Well if you want to take your cue from a chimp then you do that son...
