Because I can.
"Function", I currently keep location services on all the times as watches require it for bluetooth scanning as Google changed the permissions. This was due to bluetooth scanning being able to pinpoint someone's location using BT devices in the surroundings. Thus far, only McD's app requires GPS to be running at all times to funtion from my experience.

From Android 6 onward I think.
I have a Nokia device, there is "bloat" there in terms of Google Services, but nothing from vendor on Telkom. Does come Google Keyboard, and I assume Google's version of Phone, Messages, Chrome. Their phone is actually pretty good, seems to have something equivalent to Truecaller's. I also didn't have to "opt-in" my contacts, it rather asks me afterwards if it's spam if it seems so. Doesn't do phone numbers unless business number outside of my address book, probably provided for by Google's Business Listing.
The usual G-Suite apps come pre-installed.
RAM usage on 4GB is about half of it.
Never had issues with app closures besides FF but that's because the website I am opening is literally a ~200 chapter book, lol.
