Nokia’s smartphone comeback

I don't think the success of the Windows phone in RSA will determine the success of Nokia in the Smartphone market; our market is insignificant in the overall scheme of things of these giant companies.

Success in Asia, China and the USA will decide if the Windows phone will succeed.

I'm sure that Nokia and particularly MS have a grand plan that still has to manifest itself.

It doesn't matter how efficient or 'good' android or ios are, m$ have the marketing and industry muscle to become a major player in the field.

If they had the technical ability they wouldn't have to rely as much on marketing and industry muscle.

If Nokia lowers the Lumia pricing and Vodacom sell the device on an upgrade talk package without pay in, then it should be successful...

Nokia wont lower the price of the Lumia 800 just yet....
MS is currently working on a WP OS codenamed tango for entry level phones which will allow Nokia to release sub 2K phones.

I dont think Android will last as long as people think...what with them never being able to come up with one original Idea for any OS feature...If they could they wouldn't have so many Patent infringements against them.

This our operators will screw up with the exorbitant cash prices for phones anyway.

Android is just not marketed well and it's openness is a bit of a curse for it. Coming from Symbian it shows what Nokia could have been had it not slacked off in evolving the platform. It stayed in one place while the rest evolved. Btw, they do have a lot of good ideas like the slide down notification area? Like the lockscreen pattern?
