Solidus it replaces the Download! app quite nicely, i see they have also enabled that you can redownload apps :) :) :)

this was posted a while back but I'll quote it for reference :)

I'd like to do a hard reset and format my memory card completely. I posted a while back about trouble I was having with corrupt files/data loss and I haven't yet had the chance to do a 'repair'.

I was wondering if someone could confirm the process to hard-reset the phone and format the memory card.

Go one page back and read what I said. All you need to do is checkdisk your memory card in mass storage mode abd safely remove from pc in future. Ciao

I'm not sure how to do a windows checkdisk on Ubuntu Jaunty. I'd prefer to just clear it off and start from scratch, it's been running with corrupt files and missing data ever since I got the phone.

nm, I found the option to format under Applications -> File Manager -> Options -> Memory Card Options -> Format

I always safely remove by umount /media/phone on my pc.

Looking around for a new phone. Since reading this thread, I think I'll get myself a Nokia 5800. Been using Sony Ericsson phones since forever, and I am a bit hesitant to go for the Nokia :p
Any other SE users that are willing to share their Nokia 5800 experience?

Last time I touched a SE was my beloved P800, with WM5 in the mix before my Nokias, but you shouldn't have any hassles with the 5800. I love this phone, and chose it over the E71 and BB counterparts. I don't regret it, either.
 
I have had this phone for a month now and it is really a great phone. I am glad I never went for the N97.

I have installed Garmin Mobile XT as per the Garmin thread. My Garmin GPS has suddenly stopped working on 1 October 09. Anyone know why? It was working perfectly before.
 
I'm still not able to update my 5800's firwmare. Mine is still on v30.0.011

It is the Blue one om MTN. OTA doesnt pick up a update and NSU doesn't want to install the newest software update for the PC. Some Windows problem or something.

Any Idea?

I had the same issue... not sure abt the exact date, but probably
around the same time.. thinking of re-installing Garmin.. :sick:
