Has anyone seen the 5800 on a contract special, a friend of mine wants to get one but doesn't have the spare cash to buy?

Seen it all over. Vodacom on Weekender plus is just one I've seen around.Has anyone seen the 5800 on a contract special, a friend of mine wants to get one but doesn't have the spare cash to buy?

Yeah will prob do that as a last resort. Closest one to me is at the Colony in Craighall.LFC, go speak to Nokia. There's a nokia care shop in green point, I'm sure there must be more around the country.
Gotta whack my 58 again, 4th time in 2 months i've had it...
Did a scandisk and it picked up some errors on the card. Few songs gone, apps missing.
Going to try format the card first then do a hard reset. Previous times i did a hard reset first, worth a shot?
lol yeah i'm not holding my breathFormat the memory card in full, switch your phone off, do a hard reset, rinse, repeat in a couple of weeks![]()

remybfg10k, the phone is the default red model that came out when MTN first got stock. I wouldn't mind changing the product code to euro red 1 or whatever, but I can't find any apps for mac that does this.
Check that the airtime really is anytime. Last 2 people I know that got that special have off-peak only. Thanks, had a look at it now, R135 over 24 months with 120 minutes anytime, really not bad
You won't get v31 OTA, only through NSU, at least .8 should be available.
That is the latest on MTN. Those of us on a later version (I'm on 31.0.101) have likely changed our product codes to a Euro version. On MTN. I'm still on 30.0.011, from 26-06-09. Tried NSU the other day- nothing.
Will have to try again later- when did the new version come out? Anything I need to look out for before updating??
I have VirtualBox installed but I don't have an XP disc with me, it's in stellenbosch. Blah, I could run the code changing software on the computer at work, but ultimately I'm just pissed off that MTN isn't playing ball. They were quick with the other updates. OTA is just so much easier and cheaper than NSU.I'm sure someone with a Tube in your area would gladly just do the product code change and the update (as it would be cached on their NSU)
Dumb question, are their no Windows emulators, or maybe a VM you could create with XP on?
Worst case is take it to your closest Nokia shop for the upgrade
Yeah. As mentioned previously, this update includes a change from Nokia Maps to OVI Maps - it's a huge update, and one that just can't be done OTA - no matter where in the world you are.I have VirtualBox installed but I don't have an XP disc with me, it's in stellenbosch. I'm sure if you take it to a Nokia Service Centre they can do the update immediately for you.Ah ok. Guess I'll do it via NSU when I get the chance. Thanks, didn't know it can't be done OTA.
Lucky for you! I tried MyPhone - not bad, but not my cup of tea. If I wanted an iPhone I would get one.So luckily i've won another competition on Tube5800.com, next time i'll post the competitions and how to enter on this thread.
Have a look:
