NOKIA 5800 Tips Tricks & Apps Thread.....

K, so I'm obviously bored (6 months to my next upgrade), and I've been looking at custom firmware. Cue pnht.org - these guys are brilliant. You want C6 firmware on your 5800? No problem. Want it to be recognized as a N97-mini? No problem. :D

Only data charges. Quite frankly, I use Google to keep my contacts in touch, as well as OVI Suite. I don't see the point of OVI Contacts, because I don't use the IM or mail either.
 
Hey guys,

I got a nokia 5230, which as far as I know is the baby brother of the 5800. I've gotten this really cool app called Xpress Sketch. Does anyone else here use it?

I can't save my drawings and it's annoying the hell out of me!
 
So I downloaded Whatsapp because some people were raving about it facebook, because you can talk to BBM (something Nimbuzz can't do). What a dissappointment. It keeps running all the time, connected to wifi and if no wifi to cell network. Runs the battery down. You can't end the app, if you do, it just restarts. I don't want wifi signals running through my brain while i'm sleeping. I was getting a headache when the app was running the whole night. Maybe physcological???

Uninstalled. FAIL

I understand this is a trial, too. I don't do trials (well, except for SPB Shell, which I bought :o).

i have this app and it works fine. Try reinstalling it
 
Earphones

Does anyone know where i can buy the Nokia 5800 noise isolating earphones? (not ebay) The exact same kind that comes with the phone. Been to Game and Clicks, no joy.

Why buy Nokia ones? They're rubbish. You can use any earphones with a standard 3.5mm connector with the Nokia adapter.
 
Hey guys.

Im glad I came across a thread like this.
Since I updated from V40 my phone has been going mad. I get lines on my screen after every second unlock or so. If I unlock the screen is full of lines but if I lock it then unlock it again it goes back to normal. Also if im doing something like playing a game it will randomly restart?
Also I randomly lost all signal and resetting was the only help.

Ive done a hard reset (*#7307) i think thats the number, cant remember and that helped a bit.
V52 didnt do much except make it a lil more responsive. I was hoping it was a firmware related issue but guess not.

What are my options?
