software v52 OTA update is available now (no work around needed) just updated mines now
Arktic try updating yours it might fix your problems ?

Sounds like a problem with your phone. Perhaps it's worthwhile taking it in if it's still under warranty.

+1 i doubt its mpre then 2 years old so its should still be under waranty

Yeah its still under warranty luckily.

Only happened after a firmware upgrade though which is a bit depressing.
But yeah guess I will take it in.

Sounds like a product code issue - I don't think 5800s with SA product codes will get V52.

I have one with a sa product code and mines updated no problem

Now that you guys mentioned it, I checked and it seems the last time I changed mine it was to the MTN-SA product code, but I am not sure if the branded VodaCom ones will get it.

That didn't work on mine (which is now my daughter's). Says no updates. I updated OTA via wifi.

if any one is interested Divx labs divx labs have made a divx player for the 5800 (work on x6 too basicall any s60 v5 phone) its still in beta so its a bit buggy but at least you can watch some stuff

I've had no need. I convert all my videos to MP4, specifically tailored for the 5800 (Search this thread). Works perfectly.
