Hi.
I have had a Nokia 5800 from Vodacom for about 4 months now and have been very happy with it.

However today I decided to try updating the software to 40.0.005 as stated on this site: LINK

However I downloaded the Nokia Update Manager and proceeded to do a 131MB update, however
it turns out that the latest update for my particular phone (determined by its CODE found under the battery)
is only V 31.0.101 :erm:

Why is this? my friend has a Nokia 5800 which he has managed to update to 40.0.005.
Where can I get version 40.0.005?

Hey Shadow....something to do "progressive rollout" ....check 5800 topic, will assist you to chnage the product code and than you can download the latest version of software. Had the same issue...did as instructed by thread and happy with the Firmware version 40.

change your product code.....update .....then change it back

Thats what i did

Thanks everyone.
Followed the advice in the other forum.
Finally I can download 40.0.005 via the NSU just have to fork out another 132MB as earlier today I did a previous version update without realizing it was not the latest.
@ Robertvv V40.0.005 for the Nokia 5800 Express Music looks like a really worthwhile update. The kinetic touch improvement is well worth it + a few nice extras

Hi guys,
I have a nokia 5800 which i bought from India and currently i am in USA.
it is an unlocked phone. and the product code is 0575590 and the version number is 30.0.022
When i check for an update OTA it says that there is no update available, i connect to NSU and check and still it says no update available.
My question is that does nokia come out with an update for all the product codes?
I cannot update to the previous update (V31) as well.

I am considering to change the product code and then get an update. What would u suggest?

If later at some point i have problem with my phone, have to send it to nokia. If i revert back to the product code, and get the current firm ware in it and then send it to nokia people, will they be able to figure out that i messed around with the phone and void my warranty?

Thanks in advance for your help.
