Nokia 6630

The last message was almost two months ago. Any news on when this phone will finally be released? I had a Motorola E1000, but the things was such a piece of crap that I'm willing to wait for a Nokia 3G phone.

Waiting for Nokia 6630

Does anybody know when the Nokia 6630 will available from Vodacom Service Providers?

It's time for me to upgrade my contract and i really want that phone.

There is no ETA on this phone. Don't hold your breath. I waited many, many months for the 6630 and finally gave up and settled for another non 3G phone. Sad but true.

Well if the Nokia 6630 isn't going to be available in the next month or so, what is your opinion about the Nokia 6670? Is it a good substitute for the Nokia 6630?

I went for the 6670. It's an excellent smartphone. It had all the features I was looking for, except 3G. I did endless research on cells and I'm extremely happy with my choice. I was in the same position as you - my upgrade was due and I really didn't have any choices when it came to 3G phones. I don't think the Motorola E1000 is much of a choice, so I decided to settle for a non 3G phone.

If you particularly want a 3G phone then I suggest you wait until the 6680 is released. Keep bugging Vodacom3G to see if he can get an ETA for you. Otherwise, I strongly recommend the 6670.

The Nokia 6680 looks like a greate phone, even better then the Nokia 6630. Does anybody know when it would be available from Vodacom?

The 6630 will not be available on Vodacom.I am a Vodacom Dealer,I just phone the people who are incharge of stock and they told :) me "The 6630 has no Video camera and Vodacom will not have it"The 6680 will be in SA on the Vodacom network in MAY...

Thanks for the info.

I went on the Nokia website and looked at the Nokia 6680, it is basicaly the Nokia 6630 with a Video Camera on the front and a 18-Bit color screen, much better than the Nokia 6630.

I think i'll wait for the Nokia 6680, my contract expires in May so hopefully it will be available by that time.

Do you have a more precise ETA on the Nokia 6680? Will this phone be available from Autopage Cellular for upgrade option on a Vodacom package?

I am a Vodacom Service Provider Company trade partner not AUTOPAGE.I just phoned VSPC after this thread was made and the told me the 6680 will be available in MAY.I will post dates when i get them.By the way VSPC gives better sevices than AUTOPAGE and we are CHEAPER

Please give me your website address and i will call you next month. I am looking for a new Service Provider because i am not happy with Autopage.

Request: before we descend into service provider wars & arguments about which is/isn't better, and more specifically advertising, please request/send such info via private message.

Thanks.

Just a reminder:

You don't need to upgrade the moment your contract expires. At the end of your 24 month contract it switches to a monthly contract.

So, if a desirable phone is near, rather wait a month or two. Don't let the SP's bully you into upgrading.

Sorry about that, will use Private Messages from now on.

So when it switches so a monthly contract i can cancel it at any time, there is no long wait to have a monthly contract canceled? That is if i want to switch Service Providers...
