Nokia 7 plus

Been running Pie for the last 24 hours abouts now and I must say the phone software experience has been very much improved a lot smoother, animations etc. Fingerprint scanner also feels quicker but that could be a placebo. All in all good software update haven't encountered any major issues thus far. Battery life feels about the same maybe slightly better for me than on 8.1 Oreo.

Does anyone have yellow led bleed towards the bottom of the screen?

I don't have yellow bleed, but my screen does have a bit of a yellow tint to it. It's like the colour temperature is a bit off. I think you may need to send yours in for repair.

Slightly off topic, but I thought Pie would bring joy. Instead I get this weird navigation button lock up almost every day. Only way to "fix" it is to restart the phone. I contacted Nokia support and they suggested running my phone in safe mode. Not quite the help I was hoping to get.

Another thing, something that has bugged me since I got the phone. Is everyone else's lowest brightness setting bright AF? It's such a strain to look at my phone at night. Can't be right?

I don't experience any issues after PIE. I must admit, same experience as you with the lowest brightness setting. Did you try the night view? Perhaps that can help?

No bleed or color accuracy issues here.. I end up using the night light and leaving the brightness slightly off 0

Also literally not a single issue with Pie so far. Loving it.

Kudos to Nokia for binging the pie update so quickly. Samsung s9 owners will probably have to wait until 2019.

Upgraded to Pie today, pretty decent so far.

But how the hell do I banish this pesky widget? I hate it, I don't want it there. If I press and hold it just gives me a preferences menu.

You can't. There are some pretty decent 3rd party pixel launchers available where there is an option to disable it.

CPL launcher: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-fork-aosp-version-launcher-3-t3746559

Ruthless: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-ruthless-pixel-launcher-based-t3755903

Rootless pixel launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...her&pcampaignid=APPU_1_9a3OW_rVI6OL5wKkjZ7IAg

The first 2 offer a ton of customisation options but keeping the pure Google pixel look and feel etc.. give them a go.

How serious is the bleed? Perhaps a upload photo?
Its not visible on a photo. Its very subtle. But once you've seen it it can't be unseen. Apparently it's the glue that causes the discoloration. So it's not actually bleed, the screen has a more yellow tint towards the bottom and only visible on white backgrounds.

Maybe mine could be the same, but the thing is I have used cellphones with worsted LCD's then this on the Nokia 7 Plus. :)

Night light just reduces blue light, doesn't affect brightness. The brightness issue seems to be with Novatek screens. Anything between (and including) 0% and 16% brightness is the same brightness level. It's dodge. The phone with the other screen doesn't seem to have this problem.

Since updating discovery insure app is not working. What could be the reason

Anyone bought a Vodacom one? Does it have bloatware or boot screen branding?

Has anyone managed to get a decent case and screen protector for the phone? I've looked everywhere with no luck?

It would be interested what other is using but I managed to get this screen protector and it works "okay" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FBCFB45/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The cover I have is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B6392NS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Very basic cover, but it protects atleast the back cameras.
