Nokia 7 plus

Wow R2999 is a steal. I have mine since Jan, and I love it. I searched the earth for specials at the time and got it for R5k, when they were selling for R7k.
I am considering buying this one for my son.
But if you get a lemon, it must count as a out-of-box failure, so you should get your money back, or what?
(I see they are out of stock at Hi Online)

I see one for sale on here on MYBB -
if you interested

In an ideal world, yes. But I don't think "the screen is too yellow" will go down well.

Price is too high IMO.

To those looking for stock, and willing to drive, it looks like some stores have stock. If you click on the "Check store stock" button, it lists stores around you that have (and don't have) stock:

And my Nokia 8 isn't getting the update, apparently they are sticking to their guns on the 2 years update.

Yeah, Nokia 8 is not running stock Android and: https://www.slashgear.com/nokia-8-wont-get-android-8-0-treble-feature-hmd-says-why-06510964/ is not part of Treble (remember, only if launched with Oreo does it have to support it).
At least you're getting security patches till at least end of 2020, it's not like lack of Android 10 will make the phone EoL.

Same thing with the 7 Plus though, this will be the last major update probably as 2 years of major updates and 3 of security guaranteed, so 10 may be last, but since Treble support it wouldn't be that difficult for them to update it compared to 8.

Loving it. Like the new gesture system. But WiFi all of a sudden seems unstable.

Have you reset your phone to factory settings? I find it's always best to do that with a major update. I had some issues before I reset mine, it's fine now. Perhaps issues will pop up later down the line.

I have also switched to the new gestures. There were growing pains when I switched to them in Android 9, and I seem to be experiencing the same thing now. I will like them eventually :P

Nah, how does one even backup an android phone fully? Don't want to go through the pain of installing and configuring everything. Though WiFi seems to be stable today.

Settings >> System >> Backup.

It backs up app data, text messages, device settings, call history, and contacts. Once you boot up after a reset and sign in to your Google account during the setup, it'll ask you if you want to restore, and what you want to restore. I haven't tried the full thing. I just restored text messages, call history, and contacts. The rest I did myself.

I was actually surprised at how well it worked.

Mine update yesterday, must just get use to the new feel, and learn some Android ten features. Then settings and alarm clock was always easy to go to, now it is not so easy.

I just whish it will ask you when to download. Some wifi are a bit less unmetered than others ;-)
Go select wifi in settings, hit the cog and set to metered.

I am concerned, looks like my battery life took a big knock after the update. I will monitor for a few days to confirm.

Mine is much the same. 1 day. 2 days if I am really lucky or want a very low battery the next day. Poor battery life is my only gripe with this phone.
