Anyone know when these phones will be available ... via MTN or Vodacom?

I see the Nokia site says coming soon.

My company will be getting me Cell phone, and this is the phone I really want.
 
why is it so k@k? it's basically a 9500, but smaller, and without the Camera ... also does 802.11G (WiFi) :)

besides, it's a company phone ... what else similiar is their in the same sort of price range?
 
I'm not a big nokia fan. My next phone will be an Imate. The 9300 (my mate has one) is flimsy and the paint comes off - like the Sony Ericssons. The iMate however just FEELS good in your hand, solid, userfriendly, it runs Windows. You can get the JasJar if you got the bucks - looks AWESOME. Check out their site.

Dont get a Nokia. it's poo.

Do not believe that this phone has WiFi.
Rather wait for the P990 or get the 9500
 
The 9300i has got Wifi. I had the 9210i. It was a very good phone. Can't think that the 9300 or 9300i is bad. I mean, Bluetooth, Wifi, MMS, More memory than the 9210i. So it must be great.

If you want to take pictures get yourself a 3MP Camera for R1000. The pictures will be better than any phone can take. Phone Camera's just don't come close to real cameras.

And another thing. I do have a i-mate with Windows. Just like a PC. Just a little bit worse. I have to format mine almost once a month. Windows crashes almost every week.

I just hope the i-mate Jasjar is much better than the one I have know.
 
I use both the 9300 and the JasJar.

If you want a phone with PDA capabilities, go for the Nokia, it's more portable, has better battery life and you can use the device without opening it up. Nice wide screen and keyboard.

If you want a PDA with phone capabilities, go for the i-mate. Terrible battery life, bulky but it's the only 3G PDA (with WiFi)! Good enough reason to live with the funnies. And it has massive coolness cred :)

My ideal device would be a "JasJar+" with a wider screen and keyboard, battery life and EDGE (like the Nokia)
 
V3G - I want your job, man. Get to play with all the coolest toys. Plus I am walking distance from Vodaworld.

Its called a laptop :)

Agree with you tho, JasJar is a power PDA, but just too clunky as a day to day phone.

If you open up the JasJar, the screen is only about 60% of the available real estate, so the unit must still have the same outside dimension (it fits nicely in my pocket), but with a screen that stretches from end to end, a bit like the first i-mate. And a resolution of 1024 by 480.
 
JasJar seems to have solved the memory issue when battery runs flat, so that is a major bonus.. However if faxing ( not that many ppl still use it) is a requirement then I suggest stick to Nokia....

I was refering to the 9300i ... it does have WiFi (phone not available yet though :p )
 
I wouldn't mind the JazJar ... problem is though, it's just simply TOOOOO expensive :(

Check out the FLYBOOK - only problem is that it has GPRS only....no EDGE and3g but should be forthcoming.

Flybook has built-in GPRS. Does that mean it will be available with a cellphone contract?

it is available from Teljoy Cellular..they had an ad in last months Vodaworld magazine...dont rememeber price though...it was something like R16999 or R499 per month - not sure
