What a pity I recommended this phone to a relative last year.

I spent quite a few hours on this phone this weekend updating the firmware which meant downloading the 145MB image from Nokia's stressed-out servers. Afterwards I did a restore from the backup made with PC Suite, but the SMS/MMS messages were not restored for some reason.
Luckily I found a freeware app which could decode the .nbu backup file.
Nokia Ovi Suite sucks just as much and is no better than PC Suite.
No more Nokias for me until they have developed a stable OS and quality software on the PC to go with the phones.
