Hi Grim, thanks for the clarification. There is a solution, however, if one wants a WP8 device and not something with S40 on it and this is called Companionlink, which allows for local sync. Pity though that one has to fork out more cash! But, at least, there is a way.

That looks like a nice app. Strange that MS did not do this as a standard capability for WP8?

A Wall Street journalist recently wrote that "98% of the world have broadband access." It is that kind of stupidity/ignorance that make people establish protocols a decade or two prematurely. MS and Nokia removed that functionality as they believe that "everybody has broadband." So, they wall in their little garden, not realising that they prevent free ranging users from using their systems. It is this kind of stupidity we see from people living in the its world while we in the 3rd world have to educate them, which is not an easy task. Steve Wozniak, at least, had the insight but got derailed by his buddies. My guess is that the freaks who make these rules live behind stacks of pizza with mould growing on it, stale cold coffee and nary a ray of sunlight. They must be living twenty storeys underground and only ever experience virtual reality.

Just the past Sunday, we had a lengthy power failure in a neighbourhood with posh hotels overflowing with visitors, as these failures never happen during office hours. So we have to scramble to find somewhere to plug into the mains, then the search for a GSM signal begins. All of this within 5 minutes away from Parliament, not Nigramoep or Rondomverskrik even!

The educated live in the 3rd world and get bullied by the ignorant ruling the developed world.
