So after a long 5 month wait, I finally got the call on monday and collected my Nokia E52 From Vodaworld! What a gem, weighing next to nothing, a fab processor, GPS and all office extras. I'm so happy with it! I'd say it was worth the wait, however I would've preferred to have it sooner. Any cool aps and tricks anyone may have for this phone - please post them here:

I've had mine for a month now and agree, it is a very nice phone. I really enjoy the fast operating system - much better than other nokia's. I done use a lot of apps, only Fring really.

Here's my tip: when setting up a corporate exchange mailbox, make sure you have all the settings for you exchange from your network admin before going through the setup wizard. I was fooling around with this when I just got it and configured it incorrectly. Since the phone can only handle one exchange mailbox, you have to delete the incorrect profile first before creating a new one - and the exact setting to do this is not very intuitive to find. I eventually figured it out but took me a good couple of days to get my email working.

Guys,wanna know if the 600 MHZ CPU means no lag..for anything...instant response...camera a quality also,half good?

I think 'instant response' on a cell phone is a bit optimistic. But compared to my previous phone, E65, it is definitely more responsive. Battery also lasts longer - not smart phone style.

Camera is very good, 3.2MPix, zoom (not sure about specs), predefine scene modes, self-timer and flash adjustments. I also like that the screen rotates along with the phone.

yeah, got mine from vodacom about a month ago...love it!

Howzit guys,

Have any of you managed to update the firmware on this phone yet? Also is there another product code that can be used for the phone?

UUhh we sell the biggest range of Nokias at the cheapest prices...even the E52

We even have the latest E72, selling like hot cakes... our prices are cheapest in SA ;)

Thanks for the pointless spam post.
BTW: Vodacom sells the iPhone for R700.00 cheaper than you do.

No, I haven't updated yet. The latest f/w is not hackable and I use lots of features that require hacking. There's tons of product codes that can be used but you can use 0586833 to get the new firmware if you're hell bent on updating. That's the MTN code and it's got the latest f/w available.

If anyone is interested I got a soft jacket pouch from Vodashop in the Norwood Mall for E52... R129-00
