Nokia E71 - Date release... teaser

Damn I wonder if it will also be free on ProCall220? Anyway, my upgrade only comes in Jan 09, in the meantime I'm gonna continue enjoying my E61i.

Got a flyer from an MTN shop yesterday and it is free on all ProCall packages.
I'm due for upgrade now... tempted....
 
vodacom shop in tygervalley also has stock. put their pay in is ridiculous as well. been using VC for 6years but I'm definitely switching to mtn!!

their call rates, phones and contracts are all cheaper!

getting E71 on Wednesday. looks really awesome!
 
Im happy with mines. Especially with the battery life. already typing like a pro on the keyboard. Only my pouch seems to be wearing out a lil.

Sorry for the slightly off topic response but I assume BB is Blackberry email. I can't figure out what the big advantage of bb actually is? I get that it's 'push' email but surely just setting a normal email client to check every 10 min or whatever will achieve the same thing?
Can someone enlighten me as to the real advantage of BB? A lot of people seem to want it and are willing to pay extra for it so I'm assuming I'm missing something here...:confused:

The only thing Blackberry offers over and above any other push email service is easy Corporate Email. You phone your blackberry provider with the Blackberry Enterprise Server details, wait a few minutes and your phone is syncing with the server.

and this is from an corporate account manager dealing specifically with our company, and promising delivery under 3 days!!
what is wrong with the service delivery in this country!!

And I'm upgrading this week and using a corporate account manager dealing with our company as well :confused: Are you also getting a discount on your subscription and calls?

Ya, also fail to understand the relevance of Blackberry in this day age when you can rent a full featured hosted Exchange (2007) mailbox for ~ R85 p/m (inc. the license to run Outlook 2007 on your PC). Just download Mail for Exchange on your E71 (Nokia's ActiveSync client) and point it at the Exchange server to get push email & full sync of your contacts, calendar, task etc.

What do you pay for the BB service these days?

i requested my new phone last friday 05.09 and had al the paperwork done by 8h00 on mon 08.09. after calling the guy 6 times and leaving 3 voicemails without reply on friday I called his manager who practically said the the guy is useless and she would sort it out by Monday!

so we'll se if it takes another week... my advice: start you upgrade process ASAP!

What's with the deal with the HUGE pay in on Vodacom? Vodashop told me R799 on the Talk 130 which is basically equivalent to the ProCall 120. Any reason for this?

Anyway. the BB service - doesn't that also allow for unlimited on device browsing? I wanted get the E71 and use this feature as well seeing that my pc doesn't play any YouTube videos :P ...
 
yes vodacoms pay-inn is outrageous! mtn has it free and they ask R799.

but do some further researh and you will find mtn charge R285 for procall120, vodacom R315 for talk 130... R30pm for xtra 10mins!

what are they thinking! we're not meerkats that dance with a 'cost hiding', hotter than life lady meerkat to their latest groovy tune, and suddenly don't realise that they are over charging!
 
Upgraded yesterday, got an email last night saying it will take 2 working days..... here's hoping :D
 
well, to be honest I am sure that you will receive it!
the rest of the staff i spoke to @ mtn wer all very helpfull and competent.
just that 1 oke i mentioned.
mine should come today or 2morrow apparently!
 
Is anyone aware of an MTN store in the Pretoria area that stocks the E71? Is there any other way to obtain one? Evryone gives me the "out of stock" line.
 
The thing is that this is probably the best phone Nokia has made in a real long time! I think that the "out of stock" line will be used for at least another month because the people in the know are all rushing to get it. I know some people who have got it and others who have ordered it. I think just look around and hope that you find a store that does have it!!!
