Hi guys,

I have the Nokia E71 and basically, the problem I'm having is that the speaker sounds weird.
When someone calls it's like it's scratchy or something - it just doesn't sound right.

Now, I figured maybe my phone was damaged due to 'wet' or something, but recently, my boss's phone has also started to do the exact same thing.

It's like, when someone calls, I can almost hear the entire conversation and it's not even on loud speaker, and the volume (handset mode) is on half (not full)

We both have the latest software version on the phone, this morning, as a test, I reloaded the software, but the phone does the same thing.

Any advice on what we should do?

Well when did you get the phone? my first E71 I got I replaced in the first week as with the same problem.
E71 sux I must say, the only time mine has worked is when I only use it to call and sms other than that it’s a total waste of time.
But do have to agree that since I have firmware 4 its been stable except for the every now and then self restart.

I had the same problem with my E61i and eventually sold the phone. Apart from that I had no problems with it. I think the E 90 also had similar problems. So it could be a common E series problem.

How do other sounds sound (music, ring tomes etc) sound? Does it sound different on loudspeaker vs earphone? This will at least help to establish where the problem is.

BTW a new software upgrade that came out this week
