Any E72 users here?. Im thinkin of getting one, but i have a few questions im hoping someone can answer first.
Coes it do push e mail?. Im talking of getting my e mail sent directly to the phone and not having to check manually for it. If an e mail is ent tothe phone, and i read it, will the e mail when d'loaded on my computer show as read?

How quick is the camera? Press the capture button and how long does it take to store the image?

Its a sweet phone and i'd love to get one, but i need to know these things first.

Maybe say what you don't like about the E72

Thanks

I've got one, and IMO it's a great phone - but I can't answer your questions :

1) I have it set up for gmail as well as pop3 mail, but haven't bothered with push e-mail. There is also a Skype client for it.

2) I haven't used it to take photographs, I normally use a SLR.

But, in general, it's a pretty fast phone. There is nothing that I don't like, it's a very nice phone with great battery life (huge battery).

I'm with Jola as far as your questions are concerned because I do not use the apps you mention. I haven't used the camera that much, but I can only say it is a wonderful phone and I do not regret getting it.

im terrible when it comes to phones! Always selling and gettin a new one. 6 months. Thats the longest i can hold out i saw a e72 and now the big bites again. I currently have a satio currently and its a stunning phone, but i want one with decent push mail. The e72 just feels so nice to hold, and has decent specs, but im a little worried about the camera. Im through with full touch phones and want BUTTONS!. would love it if someone ould e mail me a pic taken ith this phone, outdoor, preferably of a builing or landscape.

+1 to the above. Love my e72. Camera is decent for speed of capture... it's not going to beat an SLR, but it's fast enough for me not to even think of it. As for push email... haven't tried anything. I looked at the mail setup now and it has the following options:

Ovi Mail
Yahoo! Mail
Gmail
Windows Live Hotmail
Mail for Exchange
Lotus Notes Traveler
Other

Having exchange server as an option, I would be surprised if it did not have push. I know that you can ask it to check automatically, and change the interval... it's not push email, but that works for me as i'm not using exchange email at the moment. As for checking mail and leaving it in the server... I think it does that by default for both POP and IMAP. I use IMAP to connect to my email and that works like a charm, no deleted emails. I didn't have to change anything.

What do I not like about the E72?... to be honest, nothing... it's a great phone.

I'm also in love with my E72.... I've had 'em all... the big and bulky HTC Touch Pro, to the "Multimedia computer" Nokia N95, and even the "speedy" Samsung Jet.... So, far the Nokia E72 is the best phone, battery life is out of this world, the UI is nippy, while still retaining functionality. Camera is good, the only gripe I have with it, is that it occasionally will reboot when I want to take a picture, I've updated to the latest firmware, but the problem is still there, and while the metal back plate is awesome and sturdy, it's still somewhat of a fingerprint magnet. Other that the mentioned faults, the phone is lekka.... slim, solid construction, and powerful. The keyboard takes a while getting used to, especially since I have big fingers, but after a while you'll get used to it, oh, and did I mention the awesome battery life?

As for Shogun's post, yes, it's a full featured business-class phone, hence the "E" series... it's supports all known mail integration technologies be it POP, IMAP, EXCHANGE, DOMINO, the list goes on. The 'lil speaker is good, the GPS is 'OK' (had better, had worse), and as for the Symbian FP2 - the phone can pretty much do it all.

even automatic checking of e mail is fine, as long as i dont have o manually go to check each time. Ja, the camera will never ompare to a stand alone, thats not what im expecting, as long as it can take crip clear shots consistently its fine. Waht colours are available in SA? I've only seen grey in the shops today. I'd love a black one, will look good with the chome bits

How long does the battery last on average? I know it depends on useage, but just generally?

Are there themes available?, like at Zedge?

Sorry for my spelling, 'virtual leypad' sucks

I have a black one, in my opinions it looks better than they Grey.... it looks more fun....

However, I was told, that only Nashua Mobile, have the black-coloured models in RSA... MTN and Vodacom have they grey-colour model.

I charge mine once a week on average. It's a 1500mAH battery, which is huuge. I've also installed a number of other apps. Two of my favorites are GPSed for tracing roads (I contribute to OpenStreetMap), and LocationTagger which will GeoTag your photos when u take them.

The photo's are among the clearest i've seen on a phone before (approx the same as my old K850i, which was also 5 Megapixels).

i have the black E72, just got it recently so still getting used to it........camera is quick and good quality pics for a phone.
Havent tried e-mail etc yet. love the torch function, good screen size and leather carry case. Dislike the short USB cable that it comes with.
Overall look and feel..........GREAT!

Which operator?

Rands, I took the black E72, because when I looked at the gray E72 I wasn't able to see the letters on the keys in bright light. I also looked at the Nokia E52 and it had the same problem. The white letters on the keys stand out on the black E72 and can be read clearly even in brighter light.

No credit card payments accepted for phone purchases?

Sorry not yet.

Should be able to accept card payments on all handsets mid next month.

Cash, EFT, Cash Deposit or Paypal accepted!!

Best route would be to add the phone to cart. Checkout and use Paypal as payment method, then you can pay from your linked credit card to your paypal account.

:D
