has anyone here got a NOKIA N70 phone and if so what problems have you found with the phone. my brother has one and he is p#*d off with it as it just gives him problems.

How can I puts this with some decorum?

The N70 was not one of Nokia's best phones! The 6680 before it was fine and the likes of the E65 are great but the N70 isn't good.

Upgrading to the latest firmware helps but not a lot!

You can upgrade the firmware yourself by downloading the application from the Nokia website, its quite painless and without risk PROVIDED you don't unplug the phone mid-upgrade or Eishkom does not muck spread.. errr! I mean load shed.

I think you can also get Vodacom to do the upgrade FOC but not sure of other networks?

I had my N70 for the usual 2 years, and would definitely recommend it to anyone, it is one of Nokia's workhorse phones. Change the produt code to the generic code, and run a software update.

The N70 can handle basically anything. I was amazed by what I pushed that little phone to do.

I do prefer my N95 8GB though!

I also have a N70. Been quite good for the last almost two years. Memory card's gone on it now along with some other bits that broke and the operating system seems to be dying as well. Of course, it also looks completely knackered. It's should be getting replaced Friday/Saturday since according to Vodacom I'm eligible for an upgrade on the 28th. According to my missus' mother, they refused to upgrade her before her contract was done, even though they said she could, on month 23 of her contract. I've been feeling like shouting at someone a bit, lately. Looking at a SE or maaaybe a HTC Mteor or a Nokia 6500 Classic. Would like a Top Up package though.

Had a N70 for 2years. No problems. Slow as hell.

There are a lot of 3rd party programs available.

Changed to a SE W910i. Very impressed. In 2 minds which is best. N70 with all the programs? or SE for its speed.

The weight and size of the SE might make it win in the end.
