Who has installed Android (NITDroid) on their N900? I have mine dual booting...

Firefox browser is still a little slow - I am sure the final optimised version will be fine.

Check out an app call stellarium from the Extras-Devel repository. It is pretty cool. Angry birds is obviously lots of laughs.
 
Got Meego 1.1 running on my n900!
3 Operating systems in 3 days.
Maemo is my favourite one.

Make sure it is a fast one... Try for a class 6 at least!

Thanks for letting us know. Was going to try dual booting, and slowly switch over to MeeGo, but if it's not really that unusable as a full time OS, then I won't bother. Will wait for a fully fledged OS before I try this.

Thanks for the link! I bought an 8GB Micro SD card to try this and it works with the MeeGo 1.1 I downloaded here using the method described in the link (i.e. running flasher-3.5 on a PC and then plugging in the USB cable while the phone is switched off).
However the information in the link is out-of-date, I'm under the impression that PR1.3 simplifies the dual-boot process. Has anyone found any info on how to dual boot the PR1.3 way? In the video nuyork linked to above, you can see the N900 boots MeeGo off the Micro SD card when it is present and Maemo when it is not.

It doesn't seem ready yet, and is a bit a slow (although that could just be my Micro SD card). Like nuyork I was hoping to start migrating over to MeeGo now but I'm going to wait rather.

Yip, the mcc install is the easiest - especially if you have a unix pc around (you can even do it entirely on the phone). Just a pain to use the flasher on the boot. But to get rid of it, you just restart! Was a bit of a mission to get rid of NITDroid without the card (I formatted the card before uninstalling the phone bits). There is information about a u-boot installation (which is what PR1.3 helps with). I started doing is, but it got more and more complicated, so I stopped. You could also use multiboot (as with NITDroid)...

In sort, it is not usable, so I didn't bother to keep it around.

The next release version of Meego will be out in another 6 months.
 
I've just ordered myself an Micro SDHC card (4GB class 4) - Kingston, so waiting for that then I'll give Meego a go. Mean while, I followed this guide to get plam pre games working beautifully on my n900 (NFSU, NOVA, Hero of Sparta).
I'm running the phone at 1000Mhz to get them running smoothly. So far so good :)
 
Only way to get mxit to work on it is to load a linux distro and try pidgin.
 
I've tried this method but the bootloader doesn't recognise my MMC card. I've followed it step by step but no luck.
I'm using a 4GB class 4 Kingston MMC.

Can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong =/
