I just purchased a Nokia N92 with DVB-H TV and it does not receive DSTV with the TV USIM installed. This same USIM works perfectly on my SAMSUNG P910 with DVB-H.

MTNDD or anyone please help me with this problem:(

@JohnDoe

The Nokia N92 won't work in the SA - Reason

The way the Samsung works is as follows the Samsung is your decoder and the MTN TV USIM is your sim card the same as your DSTV Decoder needs a sim card to work. Now with the Nokia N92 works if you have a TV USIM or not but not in SA - The Nokia N92 is not supported on MTN or VC as there is no equipment in SA to support the N92 as it's not SIM dependant it's Network Equipment dependent. Reasons why it's not supported and will it ever become supported I don't know remember SA are under a pilot stage so I can't say if it will ever be supported or not.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Thanks MTNDD, your explanation is fully understood. I may also add that what u say makes sense because on closer examination of the P910 simcard reader and N92 reader, the P910 has an additional 4 pins compared to the N92. ( TV usim has 4 extra contacts).

I must admit that the N92 is an awesome phone on its own with a superb screen. What a pity that it won't operate here with DVB-H. I guess we'll probably have to wait and see when DVB-H is officially launched.:(

Anyone want to purchase this phone:rolleyes: PM me please.
