took my n95 to get it unlocked to any network and it worked on any network for a couple of days but now says sim blocked any help would be appriciated
 
Download a programe called nemesis. Change product code to one of your choice that falls under the N95 list. And run Nokia Software Update to change the firmware.
 
How would updating firmware unlock a blocked sim card?

ive changed the product code and still having no luck the phone now says offline at the top and emergency calls only
 
Yeah the software has nothing to do with the sim card being blocked you need the puk number for the sim card. You can get that from the original forms/card that came with the sim card from your network or calling your networks helpline.

ive tried my sim in my missus phone and it works ok,ive reset the phone with nemesis and now it just says offline,ive also tried other network sims in it and it still says offline

a mates dad, i think hes messed it up as ive reloaded the software on it and everything works but it wont make calls
 
I think it is more to do with your phone instrument being blacklisted and less to do with with your firmware especially since your sim is working in other instruments. Check with your service provider if your instrument has been blacklisted, blacklisting blocks and locks out instruments on all networks!!

it cant be blacklisted as ive just payed the last bill for it and want to put a pay as you go sim in it,it was working ok untill it was fiddled with,if i give some one the phone number can they give me a code for it to be unlocked
 
All the symptoms described by you are of a blacklisted phone. Call up the blacklisting service on Vodacom or MTN and check out if your phone has been blacklisted by error!! You have to provide them the IMEI number. (*#06#). Nothing to do with your phone no since your SIM is working.

The blacklisting and network unlock could have happened at the same time. I could be wrong but check the blacklisting service anyway!!

when i put the *#06# the number it comes up with is 000000000000000,does that mean turned off or barred or blacklisted
 
It means some one really screwed your phone. No IMEI #, hence it is not working on any network. I would suggest taking it to the nearest Nokia service centre and see if you can sort it out!!
 
Reset your IMEI back to the one printed under your battery. It appears from a quick google search that Nemesis can do it.
 
Yeah, thats really something. lol! No IMEI. That is the prop :)
 
Haha! That's funny. You can actually get a IMEI generator that I once found on the net, that I used for a iMate I found on the floor. And yes, I used it for educational purposes ok?! :) The dude had blocked it before I could contact him...

lol.. Why would your friends dad change the IMEI number to 0000000000000???

Yep, just use Nemesis to change the IMEI back to original. Or look for that Generator, if the original one is blocked ;)

my mates dad was only supposed to change the code for unlocking the network and has messed the whole phone he has now said sorry and wont re program it incase he makes it worse than it is,i dont see how he can make it any worse as it wont work.is there a tutorial anyware on how to put the old number back in

if its not possible for me to change this number could some please tell me as i think i will buy a new one maybe the 8 gb version
 
Get the 8GB version it's an awesome phone!

Google around somewhere and look for a N95 imei generator or something (this is illegal btw). I reckon you get a new phone, and besides the 8GB definitely is a better version of the first N95 that was released... So consider getting one..
