Do anyone know when the N95 nokia will be on Contracts for south africa?

I will realy like to get my hands on it

I hope it's soon... but it might not be

It might not be anytime soon since the Phone indicates that it has a Built in GPS as standard, so Nokia is going to have to get Maps for South Africa and all the Major Towns prior to releasing it here, that is one of the main applications of the phone (Besides off course GSM).

Excellant - I get my upgrade at the end of Feb.

You'll be lucky to get it then, none of the operators are even stocking the n93 yet. And that was released overseas two or three month ago.

Maps

Has anyone heard whether or not it's going to have the full mapping capability?, that's possibly the main reason I'd go for that phone, well.. that and the superior Camera...

amazing...

:) okay...
the site says it has :
- Built-in GPS navigation
- Installed Maps application covering over 100 countries

And over 100 Countries in the GPS System...

anyone know what kinda mapping software it's using?

It will be released in Germany in Nov '06 and I say we'll be lucky if we see it early next year,Like the N80, it arrived a year later.

Well, The networks are going head to head these days to bring out the latest and greatest in direct competition with each other and with Virgin mobile jumping on the Bandwagon, it might be sooner then you think especially considering the shortage of HSDPA enabled handsets out there right now.

Hey i got some info on it.
The going to have limited stock from Nov to Jan then it going on FULL!!
cant wait

Hi I believe there are 'grey phones' (Nokia N95) coming into the country - wud u know anything about this?:o

n95s in SA ..........hopefully by Feb (contract ending) theyll have them available at vodacom

from exactmall:

Good Day

The Nokia N95 should be due for release around June and we dont have an
estimated price as yet.

Our website will be updated as soon as we receive it.

With Thanks

It Does take that long... apparently

In My Experience, Phones take an average of about 6 Months before they see our shores...

A simple Example would be the Nokia E61, It debuted around March in Europe
and was available in SA In August/September...

WAY too long, but that seems to be the trend.

Lol you guys and your funny predictions!:p
The best guess is when its officially out overseas, add 3 months to that, thats when youll get your little phone.

:-(

3 Months would be Fantastic...
The phone was officially released by Nokia in Europe at the beginning of November... 3 Months is February... I seriously doubt that since there's no remote mention of it from Nokia MEA.
