Nokia pulling out of SA?

Can't say if it's true, but I have heard a romour that Nokia is pulling out of SA.

Can anyone confirm this.

Certainly feels like it - every Nokia employee I am dealing with does not last for more than 6 weeks - from one account manager to the next. If they are not pulling out, then they have certainly a super high churn rate (i.e. employee starts and literally 4-6 weeks later leaves - not just one incident, now the 3rd in 6 months) - makes one think....

Neva! Maybe downscale the amount of reps. Nokia is actually the only one visiting our store. No Samsung, Motorola, HTC, BB or Sony..............

If that is an indication of a company shutting down then Discovery must also be closing soon... we have been through 7 brokers in the last year.

Nokia and RIM may have trouble oversees but in SA they are doing ok for now. Can the OP help us with a link or should we assume he is making all this up.

Pure alarmism.

We may actually see Nokia intensifying its investment in SA. Markets like India, Brazil, China and SA (and the rest of Africa) are crucial for Nokia going forward.

We got the 920 before Australia which gets it on 27 November. There is a launch party of the 920 in Nigeria and all major networks are going to have it (the 920) by the end of the year in SA.

Downsizing staff, yes. Pulling out, no.

They know where their bread is buttered.
