We assume Nokia is doing something to solve the E90's problems ... but they may be laughing us off whilst working on a completely new communicator.

They'll do a firmware update... but i think thas about it for those with the current E90

LOL... gee imagine that... fixes a design fault under warranty... arn't we lucky....

If there were still unowned, ungovernmented islands, I'd move to one and build a little shack... live there until I'm old -- far away from the world

what screen protector do you have , incredible connection sells 12 sheets for R170 and then you have to cut the sheets to match the screen size.
rather annoying then to apply this to the phone.

Anyone here have that problem with the screen? Then again, I have a screen protector, and pouch cover thingy.

i agree with you here however i blame the SP as well.

when i went to MTN walk-in on wednesday , they got a consultant tasked to answer tech questions w.r.t gps on a e90 (on an email enquiry) trying to find the gps app on a 9300i

needless to say i helped him out and pointed him to my-symbian.com as a reference however the sites are blocked by internal IT.

my point to him was that 1/2 the customers coming for an e90 will 1st come to the SP to solve the problem BEFORE looking online , i then punted my services to them to sort out any issues as if they throwing away the business then i may as well make some money from it.

30 billion in profit but not a clue on tech specs or the will to even sub the one to people who can actually help the end users of these phones and yet they want to think of taking a large slice of Telkom , sadness i tell you.

i don't say i know it all but i know a helluva lot more about the device i am using than the bloke trying to sell it and if you want to sell you must know your product.

Another product rushed to the market - no proper testing & no quality control.

I feel very sorry for the people that's stuck with the first batch.

Got one of those silicone glue crystal cover ones off e-ebay... can't even see its on.

I bought the ones at I.C. for my PDA, didn't like them, they attract grime, and left strange little dots all over my LCD... do yourself a favour, order the ones of e-bay specific for the e90, they fit perfectly and apply easily.... I bought a leather pouch and 2x 2 LCD protectors for R200 including shipping

The thing is Nokios so full of themselves they know their products sell themselves so they dont offer the SPs training or even incentives, yet they go for the higher ranked managers and throw phones at them, when they should give they little people something to.

Sound problems can be subtle - is your phone really ok?

The first call I ever made on mine had so much crackle on the speaker that I had to disconnect. It did this only once more over the next 2 weeks, but call quality was not great compared to other cheaper phones. Still, not so poor that it was unusable - just not very clear. Most people wouldn't say that there was a problem with it.

I also noticed that, upon connecting a call, if I adjusted the volume up or down, there was a crackle, but only on the internal speaker - the external one was fine. This is the symptom you should be looking for. I have come across other E90 owners with the same crackle, who were not even aware that they had a problem.

Mine's gone in to MTN for the second time now (the first time they replaced the speaker, which made no difference).

Once you've handed in your phone, you can email nokia.support@nokia-care.com, and give them:
- the job card number
- IMEI of the handset
- date of purchase (and all other relevant dates and details)

You can then ask them to make sure that the service centre actually fixes the right problem, which might not happen if you don't.

Which Contract Did you get yor E90 on?

From what I could gather...the E90 is only available on rediculously priced contracts.
Could you guys (e90 owners) please state
a) contract you are on
b) pay in amount
c) service provider
d) call rates

Thanx!
