Non-electric shavers

the mach three is great but i feel violated paying those prices for the blades :(

i now buy the disposible (three blade) cheapies... also gillete but i pay like R25 for ten or so

they work great and save me alot of moola,

i also think the single blade option is the best but i never use those anymore because i keep cutting myself (too accident prone :D ) those babies are sharp as hell and if you not carefull you can easily take out some skin ! the three blade option has the safety wires which is cool.

Will never go back to a multi-blade Gillette/Shick money-spinner. The first shave was a bit of a bloody affair, but now I'm convinced it's easier on your skin. And you can't really clog a single blade much.

+1 Started with this about 4 months ago. Will never go back.

I use disposables...use them as many times as I can.

There is zero % chance i will use a disposable....I dont have sensitive skin, but those things are horrific..
What i do agree on is use as much as i can...I use the mach 3, and prob used the same blade for 2-3 months now with no problem...as long as the water is pretty warm, its no issue..

Anyone using the old cut throat razors? I'm thinking of getting one of these.

They are hard to find locally. I have two but no longer use them as I do not have a hone & strop to keep them in good nick. Ideally you need a set of like 4 you can rotate. Best shave ever, next best thing is the old fashioned safety razor as pictured above.

Apparently storing razor blades in mineral oil will make them stay sharper for longer.

I haven't felt the need to test this, but it might be worth a try for guys. :)
