Just ran speedtest.net on my Amobia capped 384kbps wireless connection and the results are pretty amazing for a R99 per month deal !

Well, it is software limited on their servers so it makes sense why it does that.
Regarding the cap, it is 400MB on the 384kbps package, topups costs R69 per gigabyte.

I have used their 2mbps connection for years (before I got ADSL) and it was awesome. Definitely worth considering them if you do not want telkom.

They have a r300 uncapped 384 offering. I have to say thats quite attractive. If it wasn't for the r2k installation cost... oh well.

The R2000 CPE and install costs are very reasonable if you consider the cost of installing a line with telkom, having it DSL enabled and paying monthly rentals and DSL access fees.
Eventhough I am on 4mbps ADSL now I still have my Amobia connection as backup - for R99 a month its great for a fail over.

Yes, R250 for the connection but then it is R2500 for an uncapped account. How can they compete when they are charging R2750 for 512Kb uncapped when Amobia charges R500 for 1Mb uncapped??

I agree, when it comes to wireless uncapped nothing comes close to Amobia in terms of pricing and speed.

what is the actual speeds on there shaped uncapped accounts.
is amobia rally worth it and how does it compare to the WUG?

WUG's are not for internet access, this is. They use M-Web uncapped for their uncapped packaged and Web Africa for their capped non-shaped packaged. Their contention is much better than Telkom and the service is top notch.

So to answer your question, the compare very good against anything out there.
